Review: Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War

First thoughts

NO SPOILERS. A full depth analysis will be posted once the movie is taken off theaters.

First off, I know a lot of Marvel fans have been really nervous about the possibility that Infinity War might disappoint us, not to mention the countless spoilers out here on the Internet that are already ruining the movie. But trust me, this movie can never disappoint you. It'll tear you apart, rip your soul and stop your heart but it won't disappoint you. It's got emotional scenes (quite a few). It has at least 9 WOW scenes (I stopped counting after 9). IT'S MAGNIFICENT. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Why is Infinity War so significant?

Marvel Studios has been teasing Infinity War since the post credit scene of Iron Man in 2008 when Nick Fury introduces Tony Stark to the Avengers Initiative. Since then, Marvel has released 17 more movies, each partially contributing to the story of Infinity War. Most importantly, these movies have spanned 10 YEARS! Thats a lot of time; enough for even the stone-hearted to grow attached to something. I was only 7 years old when Iron Man released and since then I have gone through my entire childhood and adolescence. The only constant in this dynamic life is the MCU. This is why it means so much to me. While growing up, we all understood that Superhero movies aren't realistic, some of us even started finding them stupid, but most of us still hold them close because they help us stay who we were once. Infinity War is so important to Marvel Fans because it delivers on Marvel's 10 year long promise, and gives us the scenes, team-ups and fights that we've been longing for so long.

How is it different from the other two Avengers movies and all other Marvel movies?

I'm a die hard Marvel fan. But it's mostly because I always understand all references, Easter eggs and can almost completely digest all the scientific BS that they talk about (the requirement of Iridium to break the coulomb barrier or the working of an AI program that cannot be killed unless it's fried out of the web, I get all that, somehow). However, a lot of other viewers don't and they lose interest as a result. Not this time. The previous Avengers moves were in the Sci-Fi genre, this is more 'action'. There are small scientific references but anyone can understand them. What primarily differentiates Infinity War from all other Marvel movies is a good villain and dark scenes. Other Marvel movies are not that dark. They have a happy vibe. Infinity War is dark and not for the week hearted. It'll make you beg for closure.

It's a very promising movie; no doubt on that notion. It deserves your money. But, since the events of the next two Marvel movies happen before Infinity War, you'll be left stranded till Avengers 4 releases next year.

Go watch it. You'll have the best time of your life. Whether you're a die hard Marvel fan or a newbie, you'll love it regardless. Although, watching all the 18 movies and all the one-shots will give you an immersive experience.

Yeah, it is the best movie of the century. Though I'll have to admit that its just been a few hours since I watched it and I'm probably still not over it. So, this might be an exaggeration. My next in-depth analysis of the movie will be completely unbiased.

 TheWatcher Rating : 9.4

The Dark Knight was 8.5 according to me. So 9.4 is pretty awesome.
